Looking back, I can see how seemingly disparate experiences were leading up to the fusion of both traits. And when an outlet for the tumultuous emotions, stirred by a harsh awakening – that had hit so many of us – had to be channelled, the songs poured forth… At times, like a torrent. At others, like a rhythmic birthing; not always easy, but unstoppable. I am ever grateful for this vital means of release. The flow has not yet stopped, and continues to this day.
